That being said, I certainly wouldn't argue that you have to get creative ideas directly from looking at something else. I think the process is that linearl. One definition of identity is that a man is the sum total of everything he's ever experienced. If that's true, it's an argument for living a rich life that exposes you to as many brilliant stimuli as possible.
